Primer holds notes about the people in your life. That is about as personal as an app gets, so here is exactly what happens to it.
What stays on your phone
Your worlds, the people in them, your notes and any photos you add are stored on your device. Last Call Labs does not receive them, cannot read them, and has no copy of them.
If you turn on iCloud sync, your data syncs through your own private iCloud account so your devices share it. It goes to Apple under your Apple Account, not to us. Sync is off unless you turn it on.
Voice capture
After an event you can talk to Primer about how it went. Your phone transcribes that recording itself, using Apple's on-device speech recognition.
The audio never leaves your phone. Primer does not upload it, store it on a server, or keep it after the transcription.
The resulting text is sent to the Anthropic API, which reads it and returns structured notes — names, facts, things to follow up on. That text is used to answer that one request. You can turn this off in Settings, under Privacy & data; capture then keeps your transcript as plain text without extracting anything from it.
Other network requests
If you use the watercooler feature, Primer fetches general news headlines and asks the Anthropic API to filter them for relevance. Those requests carry the headlines and your topic interests. They do not carry your people, your notes or your calendar.
Primer reads your calendar only with your permission, and only to let you sort upcoming events into worlds. Calendar data is used on your device.
What we do not do
- No analytics, no tracking, no advertising identifiers.
- No third-party trackers in the app or on this website.
- We do not sell or share your personal data.
- This website sets no cookies and makes no external requests.
Purchases
Primer Plus is sold through Apple's in-app purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never see your payment details.
Deleting your data
Deleting the app removes everything Primer stored on your device. If you turned on iCloud sync, remove Primer's data from iCloud in your device settings as well.
Children
Primer is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, the date at the top of this page changes and the new version is posted here.
